Where To Eat At San Diego Comic Con

There are TONS of places to sit and eat in the Gaslamp of San Diego. But where is the BEST place to eat? Here I will give you my favorites places to eat during San Diego Comic Con. I would definitely suggest going to Open Table or calling the restaurant directly to book reservations NOW! After a long day at SDCC the last thing you want to do is wait in ANOTHER line for what your craving most at that particular moment: food.

Eat This:  Mona Lisa Italian Foods:  2061 India St
(619) 234-4893
4 Stars
Price: Moderate under $30
A bit out of the way, but TOTALLY worth it.

OR
The Old Spaghetti Factory: 275 5th Ave
(619) 233-4323
3 stars
Price: Moderate
Every meal comes with a FREE ice cream and great people watching views, if you get a seat by the window!

NOT That: Buca Di Beppo - This is a chain restaurant {so is OSF but it is a San Diego classic} you can eat it everywhere?  Why not try what the locals are cooking up!
Eat This:  Searsucker: 611 5th Ave
(619) 233-7327
4 Stars
Price: Spendy under $60
Fairly new with a fun and "cool" vibe.

OR
Burger Lounge: 528 5th Ave
Does not take reservations
4 stars
Price: Moderate under $30
I love the all organic meat and clean eating way they run. One of my favorite places to eat in San Diego. Their homemade ranch is amazing!

NOT That: Hard Rock Cafe - Been there done that.
Eat This: Blue Point Coastal:  565 5th Ave
(619) 233-6623
4 stars
Price: Spendy under $60

(619) 858-2277
4 stars
Price:  Spendy under $60
Either the Oceanaire or Blue Point Coastal would be a nice one time splurge meal at SDCC.

OR

The Brigantine : 2725 Shelter Island Dr
(619) 224-2871
4 stars
Price: Spendy under $60
Out in Point Loma, but the fish tacos are the best in town.  Which are $12 and under.

NOT That: Kansas City BBQ - A tourist trap.  Expensive and food was not good. Save your money and get room service instead.

  1. These sound great! I'll have to try some out. I feel like every time I've been to San Diego I've had amazing food. My favorite places so far have been Hodad's (a little far but totally worth it for amazing burger and shakes) and Cafe 21 right on 5th Ave. The food and service were great and you can eat outside and watch all the people in cosplay walk by!

  3. The Field is an Irish pub near the convention center. Not too expensive and really great food. I recommend the Guinness beef stew and garlic fries.

  4. In N Out is always a must for non CA, AZ, NV peoples too.
Also, San Diego's Mexican food is the best I hear! Even TX has a hard time competing! (Our Carne Asada is the bomb).
For vegan/vegetarian fair, I suggest Loving Hut and Sipz Fusion Cafe! Sipz has vegan sushi, and lots of good food!
